competition held with a large conference?

If the competition is held with a large conference, we can naturally get a large audience. Which conference should we choose? Two conferences come to my mind: International Symposium on Circuits and Systems and Design Automation Conference.  Please feel free to suggest another conference.

I think 2014 is too close and 2015 is more reasonable.  What do you think?

  1. I'm posting here in part to test out blogspot, as we just set up this address today.

I have some questions about the competition: (A) Is it the proposed intention to have a competition of running systems? If so, this would be like Green 500. (B) This could also be a competition of designs, where submissions would be projections of power consumption rated on the degree of efficiency given some specified threshold for technological maturity. (C) We could see if we could get somebody to sponsor an X-prize, which would be a design at this stage followed by construction. The distinction is significant as A is more practical to administer, but only B and C will develop something new.

The Rebooting Computing Summit included a lot of discussion on infrastructure, as in the layout of servers in a geographic area surrounded by trusted nodes and ultimately surrounded by an Internet of Things. Is this intended to be energy efficiency of a specific computational unit, or an infrastructure, or a unit in the context of a network?
